Our Courses
Think Like a Lawyer®️ offers a range of dynamic courses designed to teach our students interesting legal concepts whilst developing essential practical life skills. Each course combines challenging academic content with interactive, experiential learning. Our courses help students to build confidence, critical thinking, and real-world abilities. Students can join us for a single term or any combination of terms. Each term is stand-alone, and there is no requirement to attend a prior one. Our term-time courses can count towards the Skills Section of the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Term 1: Criminal Law
This course introduces students
to key concepts in criminal law
through engaging, hands-on
activities. Using a burglary case
study, students will learn how the
criminal justice system operates
whilst developing their own skills in
analysis, writing, advocacy, and debate.
What students will learn:
- Stop and search, components of a crime, criminal court system, rights on arrest;
- How to construct and present persuasive arguments in debates and presentations;
- Techniques for conducting interviews and preparing for legal discussions;
- Advocacy skills through mock trials and courtroom simulations.

Term 2: Contract Law
In this course, students gain a
practical understanding of
contract law and its real-world
applications. Through realistic
scenarios, they’ll learn to interpret
contracts, negotiate terms, and
explore legal remedies for when
agreements go wrong.
What students will learn:
- How contracts are formed and interpreted in everyday life;
- Techniques for reviewing and negotiating contractual terms;
- Understanding legal rights and remedies in cases of contract breaches;
- Practical exercises focused on drafting and analysing contracts.

Term 3: Business & Finance
This course builds commercial
awareness by exploring the legal
and financial foundations of
business. Through simulated
board meetings and business
planning activities, students gain an
insight into how companies
operate and make decisions.
What students will learn:
- Different business structures and their legal implications;
- Principles of corporate governance and decision-making processes;
- Financial essentials: raising finance, managing risk, understanding tax, and dealing with insolvency;
- How businesses navigate legal and financial challenges.
Holiday Programme
Our one-week Holiday programme offers an immersive introduction to an interesting legal topic. Throughout the week, students develop key life skills by participating in interactive lessons and hands-on activities, leading up to a final student-led mock trial.
What students will experience:
- An introduction to an interesting area of law
- Opportunities to develop and practice debating, presenting, and advocacy skills
- Team-based challenges and collaborative problem-solving
- A chance to showcase their learning in a realistic courtroom simulation

Flexible Enrolment Options
Students can book any combination of courses without needing to complete them in sequence. Each course is designed to be stand alone, offering valuable knowledge and skills independently, while also complementing the others for a well-rounded legal education.
